About Ed Wagschal
Ed Wagschal has spent nearly four decades in the flooring industry, building a career rooted in product knowledge, customer service, and long-standing relationships with some of the most respected manufacturers in the business.
Ed began his flooring career in 1986, shortly after graduating from college, as a sales manager for a large carpet mill. Early in his career, he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most influential carpet and hardwood professionals in the industry. This experience gave him a deep understanding of flooring materials, manufacturing standards, product performance, and what truly separates quality flooring from lower-grade alternatives.
After years working on the wholesale side of the industry, Ed opened his own flooring store, expanding into both sales and professional installation of carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, tile, and other floor coverings. As the business grew, Columbia Floors earned the opportunity to work on major commercial projects, including Reagan National Airport and large multifamily developments in Baltimore, such as Crescent at Fells Point and Presidential at Brewers Hill.
These commercial projects helped Ed build strong, long-term relationships with many of the largest and most trusted flooring manufacturers in the country. Those relationships continue to benefit Columbia Floors customers today by giving the company access to high-quality products, competitive pricing, and carefully selected flooring lines that Ed knows and trusts.
